New figures released by IDF ahead of the 2021 World Diabetes Day reveal that 537 million adults around the world are living with diabetes. In Georgia, 2.1 million adults have PREDIABETES, and 90% are unaware of their status. The good news is that diabetes prevention is possible.
Abundant Living Foundation, Inc (ALF). is now offering the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP), namely, PREVENT T2, A PROVEN PROGRAM TO PREVENT OR DELAY TYPE 2 DIABETES.
Our mission is to screen, education, and serve prediabetes individuals in underserved communities by providing health awareness and options for a healthy lifestyle change.
Our vision, which is very much in line with the NDPP, is to address the lifestyle changes needed to reduce the prevalence of obesity, overweight, and prediabetes by addressing, eating habits, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction in the prediabetes population.
The founder and CEO of ALF, Dr. E. Sabrinah Dorce, has served as a community healthcare advocate for nearly 20 years. She has work in the faith-based community and partnered with the Association of Black Cardiologists, CHOICES Program and the National Kidney Foundation, KEEP Program. The work now continues with the NDPP.
