• If you are overweight or obese and/or rarely exercise, if you have prediabetes, or if you have a family history of type 2 diabetes, you are at risk for type 2 diabetes.

• You can’t change your family health history, but other modifiable risk factor like being overweight or obese or lacking an exercise program are in your power to change.

• The good news is that you can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes by losing weight (if you are overweight or obese), changing the food and the way you eat, and by being more physically active.
